What is E.164?
The international phone number standard: a plus sign, the country code and the subscriber number, with no spaces — for example +12125551234.
Can I paste numbers with spaces, dashes or brackets?
Yes. We strip formatting characters before checking, so (212) 555-1234 and 212.555.1234 both work.
Does a correct format mean the number is in service?
Not always. Format checks the structure; the full validation also looks at carrier and range data to flag numbers that are not in service.
