Does the lookup account for number porting?
For supported countries, yes — we query live carrier data, so a number moved from one network to another shows its current carrier.
Why is the carrier sometimes unknown?
Some countries and number ranges do not publish carrier data. The number can still be valid; the risk score takes the missing data into account.
